We are posting this on behalf on our dear relative and friend, Rav Elie (Elchonon) Greenblatt shlit'a and his family. Reb Elie has built himself into a respected Talmid Chochom over the years, a Moreh Horaah (Rav) and Mechaber sforim (author of works on Jewish Law), and fields dozens of shailos from the community and beyond every week.  He does not receive any remuneration for this since he has no official position.  He also runs a Kollel in his community, and we found out that some months, after paying the yungerleit (Kollel fellows), no money is left for him to take a modest salary so his efforts are purely l'sheim shomayim. For his main parnasa, he works as a mashgiach kashrus in the Far East on behalf of a major hechsher.  He has made important tikkunim (improvements) in that field which have benefited each and every one of us.

Due to a spinal injury over 2 months ago, he was and still is unable to work, and because of complications of insurance, may receive only a minimal amount sometime in the future. Household bills are piling up, plus he already had tens of thousands of dollars in debt, which he was able to juggle between gemachim and private loans. Due to his injury, it is now too difficult for him to run around between the gemachim. He can barely walk; only very slowly and with the aid of a cane.

He is the sole breadwinner for his wife and 9 children living at home. Over the years, as a result of the various special chinuch, medical and other needs of his children he always had a hard time finishing the month, and many times had to borrow due to these needs.

As concerned family and friends, we decided that this is the time to take action and not stand by any longer, and to reach out to Acheinu Beis Yisroel to help alleviate this family's situation.

Please donate generously, and may this be for you and your loved ones a tremendous z'chus in the upcoming Yomim Noraim!

Every amount helps!

Thank you and Tizku l'mitzvos!

US donations can be sent via his Kollel Ateres Tzvi/Iyun Halacha which we are linking to this posting. (You may see more about the Kollel at their site www.kolleliyunhalacha.org)

Canadian donations needing tax-deduction: checks should be made out to: "Beth Oloth" with "for R Elchonon Greenblatt" in the memo.
